Marcel brings a unique skill set and passion to professional guiding. He blends the expert knowledge of a fly fishing guide and professional chef, experienced in some of New Zealand’s best restaurants to create a truly unique experience. This was no better displayed for our family than with a 4 day back country “heli fishing” experience on the Waiau River. During the day we were treated to some exciting and plentiful back country beats, only to be topped off at night and in the morning with some truly great culinary experiences. In terms of learning the tactics specific to the rivers around Taupo and how the fish react to fly presentation it was money well spent. We would not have caught fish without their input.
Whilst expensive due to the exchange rate form the UK, I cannot recommend highly enough the guiding service from Marcel and Riverway fishing.
Even my wife caught one (she fell in as a result of the shock and laughed all the way home)
